Subject: Invitation to serve on a computing task-force
Dear Colleagues,
With the blessing of the US_CMS management board, I would like to invite you
to join a task force to develop the 1996 LoI for US_CMS Computing. The task
force is charged to
- participate in the development of a CMS TP for Computing that is best for the
experiment and addresses special US needs
- develop a computing and networking model for US_CMS with ample input from the
US_CMS community
- develop a management plan of US_CMS software and computing in both
construction and operating phases of the experiment
- work with the US_CMS management and funding agencies to develop an acceptable
LoI for US_CMS Computing by Mid 1996.
I hope we can organize ourself during the September CMS Week and tentatively
set aside Wednesday morning for our first meeting. I would appreciate it if
you would let me know in a week both your willingness to serve on the task
force and your availability on september 27. Even if you are negative on the
second point you still could be positive on the first since not everyone is
expected to be present in all the meetings.
Best regards, Winston
Winston Ko
